    Primary Responsibilities

    The Roaster Baker assists the Roasting/Baking team in various day-to-day operations. This role involves working across various production lines including granola, roasted nuts and seeds, and other snack foods. This role is responsible for operating equipment, maintaining product quality, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.     Essential Functions

    DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Operate and monitor equipment used in the production of granola, roasted nuts and seeds, and other snack foods, including mixers, ovens, roasters, and cooling tables.
    • Set up, adjust, and troubleshoot machinery to ensure efficient production and high-quality output.
    • Assist with routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment according to company procedures.
    • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure product consistency and compliance with quality standards.
    • Document quality control data and report any deviations or issues to production management.
    • Follow established procedures for handling and disposing of non-conforming products.
    • Adhere to cleaning protocols to maintain a sanitary work environment. This includes cleaning production areas, equipment, and tools.
    • Ensure that all production areas are cleaned and sanitized at the end of each shift, following food safety regulations.
    • Dispose of waste materials and by-products in accordance with company policies.
    • Assist with monitoring and managing inventory levels of raw materials and packaging supplies.
    • Report any shortages or discrepancies to the Production Manager to ensure uninterrupted production.
    • Help with the organization and stocking of materials as needed.
    • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Report any safety hazards, accidents, or incidents to the Production Manager immediately.
    • Participate in safety training and adhere to all workplace safety regulations.
    • Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth and efficient production processes.
    • Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues to address any production issues or concerns.
    • Contribute to a positive and productive team environment by being supportive and proactive.
    • Other duties and projects as assigned.

    Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

    SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

    • Ability to operate and troubleshoot various production equipment.
    • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high product quality.
    • Basic math and measurement skills.
    • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • High School diploma or GED required.
    • Previous experience in a manufacturing or food production environment is a plus, but not required as training will be provided.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Manufacturing facility with exposure to heat, noise, and dust. This role may involve working with hot equipment and handling many various ingredients.
    • Hours: 5 am – 3.30 pm (Mon-Thurs).
    • Ability to lift and carry up to 70 pounds.
    • Capability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
    • Tolerance for working in a hot and noisy environment.
