Job DescriptionThe instructor will:Provide classroom instruction, evaluate and advise students.Develop and/or revise curriculum.Provide clinical instruction to interns providing patient care in on campus clinic.Arrange off campus clinic opportunities for students.Participate in department meetings, program advisory committee meetings, and college-wide events.Maintain professional and technical knowledge in the field through active participation in professional development organizations and events.Promote and recruit for program within and outside of the College.Promote diversity and cultural competency.Perform other duties as assigned by the Academic Dean or Vice President of Academic Affairs.Minimum QualificationsAssociate degree and a graduate of an accredited massage therapy program.Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in the massage therapy industry.One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.Current individual certification by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) or successful completion of the MBLEx examination offered by the Federation of State Massage Therapy Boards.Preferred QualificationBachelor?s degree in a relevant fieldPrior teaching experience, particularly in massage therapyExcellent communication skills.Ability to work with a variety of people as a team member.Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.Training in and experience with corrective exerciseOther RequirementsSaint Paul College is committed to supporting diversity in all of its forms.
