Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Are you ready for a rewarding opportunity?  We are seeking an ambitious engineering professional to join our team. The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and gregarious professional with a passion for helping others and building positive relationships. This role is for a candidate who is self-motivated, exhibits a positive approach, has a strong work ethic and demonstrates strategic big picture thinking. This concurrency engineering position will provide the technical expertise to ensure both the military flight and maintenance training systems remain in sync with the fielded aircraft. 

Technical responsibilities include: 

  • Demonstrated ability as an independent, proactive leader who works well within a team. 
  • Ability to build relationships, handle interpersonal interactions and cope with difficulties, both internally and externally  
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to interface with senior civilian government, DoD and industry leaders. 
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrate ability to formulate analysis from multiple resources, ask critical questions with customer and stakeholders 
  • Proven experience interpreting customer needs into achievable requirements or capabilities. 
  • Established behaviors of a systems thinker; selects and applies appropriate systems thinking skills to solve very complex problems and implement constructive change  
  • Demonstrated ability to systematically measure performance using a risk management approach; identifying and weighing technical, schedule and cost risks associated with maintaining and upgrading the Training System. 
  • Understand and implement the concurrency management process on programs and projects. 

 

Qualifications and Education Requirements  

  • BS degree in Engineering or equivalent experience required 
  • A minimum of 8 years applicable experience  
  • Military or Defense industry experience 
  • Proven success in a fast-paced development environment and possess a willingness to take ownership, accept accountability, and thrive under pressure  
  • Ability to provide and receive constructive criticism 
  • Strong critical thinking and logical reasoning skills with the ability to solve issues and predict potential programmatic and technical risks. 
  • Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance that has been granted or renewed in the last 5 years. 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain Special Program Access prior to the start of employment. 
  • Flexibility to support occasional overtime, weekend work, shift work and site travel (CONUS) 
  • Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role.  

 Preferred Skills  

  • Experience with Avionics Systems (Radar, RF, Aerodynamics, Weapons)  
  • Experience with Flight Simulation  
  • Demonstrated mentoring and coaching skills, and excellent 2-way communication skills (upward and downward). 
  • Time management and organizational skills to prioritize across concurrent program and functional responsibilities. 
  • Current Special Access Program (SAP) access. 

Security Responsibilities  

Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures.  Personally responsible for proper marking and handling of all information and materials, in any form. Shall not divulge any information, or afford access, to other employees not having a need-to-know. Shall not divulge information outside company without management approval.  All government and proprietary information will be accessed and stored electronically on company provided resources.   

  •  Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance.
