Job Description:
Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Engineering Coordinator to join our team! In this role, you'll assist our Engineering team with office tasks.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Ensures pre-established requirements (e.g., which document numbering system will be used; how many and which signatures will be required for certain approvals, etc.) are satisfactorily met throughout the duration of the project.
- Maintains an established data distribution system and schedule for the assigned project based upon client, project, and supplier requirements.
- May revise system or schedule as required to ensure timely approvals and distribution.
- Expedites review, signature approval, and release of supplier and internally produced project documents.
- Establishes and maintains files and computerized indexes for active engineering documents.
- Generates electronic/hardcopy reports as needed, by the project or management.
- Assists in preparing a “mock up” for operations manuals (e.g., develops the index, binders, dividers, etc.) and/or job data books (pulls drawings and documents, develops index, cover sheet, dividers, etc.) ensuring timely printing/reproduction and assembly.
- Assists in preparing the project manual; determines from the client what is required and collects the necessary data (oversees preparation of covers, tabs, etc.), secures approval from the client and ensures reproduction and assembly in a timely manner.
- Prepares transmittals for engineering documents and requisitions.
- Arranges document cataloging, packing, and long-term storage or disposal of appropriate engineering documents at time of project closeout.
- May attend project meetings to stay current on overall project status and give updates on requisitions or other documents.
- May monitor space requirements (coordinate moves, placement of desks/files, telephone set-up, etc.) for project personnel to allow sufficient lead time for personnel placement as staffing requirements increase or decrease.
What Required Skills You'll Bring:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Relevant work experience in an engineering support position on a project
What Desired Skills You'll Bring:
- Knowledge of technical engineering documents, with ability to identify and handle drawings
- Familiarity with Electronic Document Management System (EDMS), Document and Material Control System (DMCS), and/or with CAD operations
- Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team
- Effective computer skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and related word processing, spreadsheet, and database software
- Effective written and oral communication skills
- Effective organizational and interpersonal skills
