HOW A LAUNCH INFRASTRUCTURE SYSTEMS ENGINEER SENIOR WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Launch Infrastructure Systems Engineer tasks include:
- Provide engineering support to the Director of Engineering and other government capability managers providing services to the Office of Space Launch (OSL).
- Provide technical recommendations to the client on projects at the Project Screening Boards (PSBs), Requirements Authority Boards (RABs), and Project Approval Boards (PABs).
- Act as client's point of contact for certain projects as they progress through the boards and implementation. Approve engineering change request and support the configuration control board approval process.
- Create drafts and provide technical assistance to client's capability managers on GFE being managed by OSL
- Support the mission requirement verification process (ReqTrk), as the responsible organization designee for all DE related requirements. Review / concur with service provider responses and evidence verification.
- Provide project management support to the contracting officer's technical representative (COTR) for launch site acquisitions of payload processing facilities (PPF) and OSL critical launch site ground systems.
- Draft requirements definition, scope of work, verification / validation of requirements, acquisition estimates, schedule, and source selection.
- Perform technical evaluations of engineering change proposals, acquisition proposals, and quarterly reports.
- Provide project management oversight of payload processing facilities and OSL system assets (transporter systems, fuel loading system, RF and lightening protection systems).
- Monitor O&M contractor of GFE and client's facilities to ensure resolution of all non-conformance issues. Actively participate in fishbone and corrective action meeting to determine root cause of non-conformance.
- Coordinate acquisition strategies at base both before and after contract awards. Provide end-to-end oversite, schedules, plans, and monitoring of service provider to ensure timely execution.
- Support strategic short and long-range planning of launch support engineering activities and acquisitions studies.
- Attend prepare content for leading edge integration meeting, readiness reviews, working groups, and technical interchange meetings to ensure OSL ability to support SV customers.
- Supports Launch Mission Management interface with internal and external divisions, agencies and contractors
- During your assigned missions, you will be responsible for conducting a daily integrated scheduling meeting between LV / SV / Processing Facility.
- Support each OSL launch campaign, throughout the launch process, by ensuring the availability of necessary Mission IT infrastructure and services as driven by satellite program and OSL requirements, including launch requirements
- Participates in special projects as required.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Education: Bachelor of Science STEM
Required Experience: 5 years of related experience
Required Technical Skills: Launch provider or Satellite provider: engineering, operations, integration experience. Clean room or facility O&M experience.
Security Clearance Level: Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access
- Advanced Excel (includes use of complex formulas, Pivot Tables, and charts/graphics)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
US Citizenship Required.

The likely salary range for this position is $105,622 - $138,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
