Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Master Planner to join our team! In this role you will Independently develops plans for utilization of land and physical facilities of cities, counties, and metropolitan areas, applying intensive and diverse knowledge of planning principles and practices in broad areas of assignment. Plans, schedules, conducts, and/or coordinates detailed phases of planning work for a number of large and important projects. Some assignments involve the use of computer software applications.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Manage the program master plan for the client

  • Work with the program teams to understand there projects and advise PD and client on master planning matters.

  • Approve sign off to master plan changes

  • Report on and present details on the master plan.

  • Performs various assignments requiring conventional planning expertise, but typically include complexities such as conflicting planning requirements and/or difficult coordination requirements. Gathers, compiles, and analyzes data on economic, social, and physical factors affecting land use.

  • Confers with local authorities, civic leaders, social scientists, and land planning and development specialists to devise and recommend arrangements of land and physical facilities for residential, commercial, transportation, industrial, and community uses.

  • Develops recommendations based on governmental measures affecting land use, public utilities, community facilities, housing, and transportation to control and guide community development and renewal.

  • Prepares, coordinates, and facilitates public involvement and consensus-building meetings and workshops.

  • Reviews and evaluates environmental impact reports.

  • Coordinates Reuse and Redevelopment Master Plans.

  • Oversees work assignments of technicians and/or lower-level Planners.

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Urban Planning or related discipline with 12 years years of experience in Urban/Master Planning, with an emphasis on mixed use building and critical infrastructure projects.

  • Must have experience in international design agency as well as in a consulting setting

  • Responsible for overall planning program in terms of accomplishing the planning requirements in a senior management capacity.

  • Ideal candidate will come with overseas as well as experience within the middle east. Having worked on multi-million dollars critical infrastructure projects

  • Ability to efficiently manage a design team and client team through all phases of a project

  • Proficiency and knowledge of master planning best practices and demonstration of use of innovative techniques in urban design, urban planning, and sustainable development.

  • Excellent ability to develop land use planning scenarios and cost modeling for proposals.

  • Meticulous and methodical approach to tasks.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Ability to work at site

  • Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written English is essential.

  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills, and capable of independent report production.

  • Utilizing PC and various software packages typically used in urban/environmental planning assignments is required.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD
