Responsibilities

As an Installer II, you are responsible for reading and interpreting the proper installation specifications for various construction projects. You believe in doing the job right. Being the best. And you're up for the challenge.

In addition, you will:

  • Determine floor plan layouts, power distribution, backup power supplies, and cabling of central office equipment
  • Identify, and requisition parts necessary to establish low- and high-level racking, transmission racking, power racking, aisle lighting, and provision for grounding
  • Create comprehensive and accurate installation specifications and accurate equipment requirements to fulfill customer orders
  • Create or correct location records, drawings, bill of materials (BOM), installation notes, and memos to reflect additions and modifications to customers' location (central office) because of installation or engineering activities
  • Review installation specifications
  • Install, route, and secure cables (fiber, copper, and secondary 48V) following industry standards.
  • Perform cable sewing and bundling to ensure neat and organized installations.
Qualifications

About You:

  • You have a valid Drivers License with a clean driving record past 3 years
  • You have a dependable vehicle
  • You have entry-level or 1 year of technical experience.
  • You have a High School diploma or equivalent GED.
  • You have a track record of completing work with a high level of quality
  • You have a knack for figuring out hard problems and enjoy a hands-on approach to your work
  • You have a good attitude and desire to learn
  • You are computer literate, have basic experience with Excel and Microsft Office Applications
  • You have the ability to learn customer specifications and standards
  • You have the ability to learn time management while working on customer sites.
  • You possess dependability - Follow instructions, respond to management direction; keep commitments
  • Experience in handling power tools
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 10 lbs.
  • Must be willing and available to travel away from home for several weeks at a time (up to 90%)
  • Candidate will be working primarily in a central office which is a structure used by telecommunications companies to house equipment needed to direct and process telephone calls and data traffic.
