CAD Drafter - Military Veterans

at National Oilwell Varco

The CAD Drafter plays an integral role in creating drawings, updating drawings, and maintaining the files while maintaining all Quality and Safety measures.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with Engineering to generate drawings for the development of new tooling and equipment or to upgrade existing equipment.
  • Work with Engineering and Product Development to create or maintain and revise product drawings as necessary.
  • Maintain drawing files in an organized manner.
  • Wear appropriate PPE when in required areas.
  • Comply with all NOV Company policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • Comply with all HSE policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • Comply with all Quality policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in drafting field; Formal training in drafting or design may be substituted for experience.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or control; talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Travel less than 10%.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Parametric modeling is a bonus.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.
  • Basic math and writing skills.
  • Ability to adapt and be cross-trained to learn all job duties as required.
  • Ability to learn technical repair and assembly guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read drawings, instructions or repair and assembly operations.
