Job DescriptionThe purpose of this position is to provide organizational intelligence to meet the decision-making needs of Minnesota State University, Mankato administration, senior advancement leadership and the Foundation to advance university fundraising, alumni engagement and university brand enhancement. The intelligence generated by the position will inform strategic, tactical and operational fundraising decision-making, identify strategic initiatives, and continuously improve efforts in support of the university?s mission.Minimum QualificationsBachelor?s degree from an accredited institution in an analytical, research-related field, such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Higher Education, Business or Social Sciences or related field.Five (5) years of current working experience in data analytics, business intelligence or institutional research, including hands-on data analysis experience in a medium or large data warehouse environment, including building and maintaining SQL and/or Access queries and reports; performing quality checks and validations of data and reports; and developing and maintaining procedural documentation.Experience with statistical modeling and use of statistical analysis tools such as SPSS, SAS, R, or JMP.Proficiency in Microsoft (MS) Office suite of programs especially MS Excel and Access and data visualization programs such as MS Power Bl.Knowledge of data warehousing and relational databasesPreferred QualificationDemonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.Demonstrated experience with project managementExperience in higher education organizationsExperience working with higher education large scale databasesA thorough knowledge of quantitative methods and data analytics for a large complex organization, with preference given to experience in higher education organizations; Experience with statistical modeling;Experience with report development and deployment, data validation and data governance; Experience with MS SQL, Reporting Services, MS Office (primarily Excel and Access) and Power Bl. Has an ability to effectively resolve and grow through conflict.Problem solver (advanced) -Ability to analyze situations and make decisions based upon research, understanding impact of risks, and negotiation with other individuals and groups.Teamwork (advanced) - Creates a successful team by engaging the right people, drawing out and fully leveraging individual strengths of those on the team. Models and promotes collaboration and communication among team members and between teams.Information systems knowledge (advanced) - In-depth understanding of the university and system enterprise information systems and infrastructure. Successfully provide new effective scalable solutions that integrate with current infrastructure, as well as the technology and university strategic plansOther RequirementsWork safely at all times, which includes but is not limited to, participating and completing all required safety trainings, as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.Work Shift (Hours / Days of work)Monday - Friday; 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.Telework (Yes/No)Yes, up to 20%.
