Primary Purpose

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION

Specific to Support Svcs: Responsible for creating the daily schedule for meter reading routes. Assigning work to meter readers using Itron Field Collection System (FCS). Re-route work when needed due to being ahead or behind schedule, vehicle or IT system malfunctions, and etc. Deliver (Missed and Skip Report, etc.) reports for meter readers upon request. Monitor and track meter reader's work throughout the day to ensure work is completed and on schedule. Seek opportunities to improve meter reader efficiency by optimizing routes using feedback from meter readers and mapping tool. Update Customer Care/Billing (CC&B) and Meter Data Management System (MDM) to place meter on routes and to correct meters on incorrect billing cycles. Send out daily report of meter reading status to supervision and offer insights on next steps when Meter Reading is behind schedule. Submit payroll for team. Specific to Gas Dispatch: Receives, analyzes, and prioritizes incoming work, including emergency and priority work, and promptly routes and dispatches to the appropriate field resource to fulfill customer commitments or to mitigate and/or correct potential and real emergency situations. Responsible for providing support to field crews including but not limited to customer information, service information, prints, backup assistance, etc. Responds to inquiries from internal and external customers including the Customer Call Center, other Company departments, as well as municipal, state, and emergency service agencies. Uses various Company computer applications and systems including, but not limited to: Mobile Dispatch System (MDS)/Skyview, Customer Care and Billing (CC&B), Meter Data Management (MDM), Utility IQ (UIQ) Head-End System, Atlas/GNI, Documentum, Gas Outage Management System (GOMS), Maximo, Gas Service System (GSS), Gas Leak Survey System (GLSS), Inside Gas Meter System (IGMS), WMS, and Flowable Fill Ancillary System (FFAS), ITRON, Cititrak311. Employees subject to working weekends, evenings, holidays, rotating shift schedules and mandatory overtime due to operating conditions such as: catastrophic storms and other critical times.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience: Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two years work experience in a field organization, relevant field-oriented functions or equivalent combination of formal education/training and experience.


Preferred Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge: Knowledge of BGE's Service Territory. Basic knowledge of field related processes and procedures of Gas and Electric Field Services and BGE's electric Smart Grid. Operational knowledge of BGE's computer systems and applications. Skills/Abilities: Demonstrated ability to: Effectively plan, schedule, manage and coordinate daily work activities of multiple crews/field organizations Coordinate work across several departments Ability to understand company software and computer applications Strong multi-tasking abilities Communicate effectively both orally and in writing Work independently using sound judgment and logic Has strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment Ability to work under pressure and to handle high volumes of work accurately Demonstrated ability to write, speak, read, comprehend and communicate clearly and accurately in the English language. Must be willing and able to work overtime on a regular basis and must be available for callout overtime, if and when required, consistent with the Labor Agreement. This position is considered a "safety-sensitive" function and may be subject to DOT drug and alcohol testing. Disclaimer: Required to work during emergencies and storms. May be required to perform other job-related duties as assigned.
