This is a hybrid position with in-office flexibility 2-3 days a week, with potential for a fully remote position.
Summary
The Total Rewards Analyst provides technical support to clients and prospects for compensation and total rewards engagements. This position creates, develops, researches, and produces communication, data analysis and reports for external clients. The Analyst works independently and in a team environment to review, analyze, and provide recommendations on the compensation plan design and program administration.
This position is accountable for these key areas:
- Benchmark and evaluate client roles and plan design aspects for market competitiveness using a variety of data sources.
- Prepare compensation observations, analyses, and recommendations for client and prospects.
- Assist with client project management.
- Create client communication and deliverables to support the practice.
- Strive to be a pacesetter in the compensation and total rewards space to keep our clients informed of innovative ideas and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Benchmark and evaluate client roles and plan design aspects for market competitiveness using a variety of data sources.
- Analyze jobs for client projects using provided job descriptions and specified data scope criteria.
- Fully understand each individual survey database and technology to effectively compete compensation and total rewards projects that meet client deadlines.
- Gather additional data as needed from publicly available sources, such as 990 compensation data, salary ordinances, job boards, etc.
- Participate in client review meetings to gather and document feedback and adjust accordingly.
Prepare compensation observations, analysis, and recommendations for clients and prospects.
- Aggregate data from multiples systems to create summary reports and observations.
- Create pay structures using benchmarks data and client objectives as a guide.
- Complete employee analysis reports, comparing employees to the new pay structures.
- Develop key client deliverables, including, but not limited to project kick-off decks, summary reports and presentations, compensation philosophies, administrative guidebooks, training presentations, FLSA classification recommendations, communication updates, etc.
Assist with client project management.
- Organize client job descriptions and data for ease of use and efficiency.
- Develop project plans and timelines for mid to large-sized client engagements. Work with internal team members to schedule client meetings to stay on track with key milestones.
- Update the practice project tracker regularly.
- Attend and contribute to team meetings to stay aligned on priorities and deadlines.
Create and update deliverables and resources to support the practice.
- Review and recommend documents such as benchmark slot lists for compensation projects.
- Update documents when new data is available, such as the total rewards benchmarks, updated salary survey sources, internal templates, practice onboarding guide for clients, etc.
- Complete annual salary budget, total rewards, and other human resource-focused surveys and summarize data in a meaningful, clear, and useful format to update internal team members and clients.
Strive to be a pacesetter in the compensation and total rewards space to keep our clients informed of innovative ideas and best practices.
- Investigate new legislation and regulations that relate to our area of expertise.
- Research industry trends using publicly available sources such as surveys, publications, industry association websites and webinars, and specialized sources such as industry deliverables and white papers.
Goals and Measures of Success
- Work is completed with an elevated level of accuracy, professionalism, and attention to detail. Once fully proficient in the role, few revisions should be needed to the work by more experience team members or project leads.
- Clients are confident in the expertise, recommendations, and knowledge of delivered work. Trust between client and Analyst is build through regular and proactive communication.
- Project and client deadlines are met or exceeded.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, human resources, business, or another related field required.
- Minimum of one year of experience in compensation, data analysis, benefits, human resources, or another related field required.
- Desire to obtain advanced certifications, such as the Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), Society of Human Resource Management Certified Professional (SHRM-CP), or other related certification preferred.
- Experience in a consulting environment preferred.

The base salary range for this position is $60,000 – $77,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
