Description
This is a new position to recruit a Research Assistant Professor (Scientist and Biological Imaging Lead) to expand the Riggins Lab's super-resolution microscopy capabilities, and oversee the work of trainees in the Riggins Lab .
Qualifications
- Ph.D. or equivalent training in biophysics, optical physics, chemistry, or similar
- 5 or more years of post-PhD research experience in advanced imaging strategies to include super-resolution microscopy, e.g. second- and third-harmonic generation, fluorescence lifetime imaging (FLIM), fluorescence correlation spectroscopy (FCS), fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET), single-molecule fluorescence imaging, and similar techniques
- 2 or more years of experience in building and maintain custom instrumentation for high-resolution biological imaging
- Prior research managerial experience, including responsibility for grant budgeting

Research Responsibilities
- Conduct cancer research that is within the scope of the Riggins Lab.
Additional Responsibilities
- Modify and maintain biological imaging instrumentation
- Facilitate collaborations/contract work involving super-resolution microscopy
Educational Responsibilities
- Oversight and co-mentoring of postdoctoral fellows, graduate and undergraduate students, and clinical fellows, in the Riggins Lab
- Formal teaching responsibilities not required, but could be considered on a case by case basis
The projected base salary range for this position is $95,000 - $113,730. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
