Lead Land Services Representative (Contracts Team) - Military Veterans

Position Specific Description

Employees in this role are integral members of the Contracts Team, dedicated to supporting regional Land/Project teams with land acquisition and contract management. Primary duties include independently managing the land agreement request process, training land agents, tracking agreements at every stage, and reporting on land acquisition efforts for NextEra Energy Transmission (NEET) projects. The role involves supporting project land representatives by reviewing negotiated terms, ensuring clarity before forwarding requests to the Real Estate Legal Team, and updating parcel statuses in the land tracking database. This requires regular coordination with Land, Legal, and Development teams, as well as gathering necessary documentation for the Payments Team to issue payments under agreements. The Contracts Team collaborates closely with the Landowner Services/Payments Team and internal legal team to ensure timely payments and proper circulation of agreements.

The Contracts Team significantly impacts project milestones and deadlines. Critical skills needed for this role include:
- Independent leadership
- Clear communication
- Time management and attention to detail.

Preferred backgrounds include project coordination, land title agent/examiner, and/or paralegal experience.

Job Overview

Employees in this role manage multiple land acquisition projects with multiple contracted Land Acquisition agents concurrently. The job will provide leadership to the contracted resources and act as an interface back to NEER Development, Legal, EandC and Environmental teams. This position will be located in field office with significant travel requirements.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Prioritizes and directs land agents acquisition efforts
• Analyzes project needs to acquire sufficient land to develop
• Facilitates contracted resources interacting with internal departments
• Provides reports to management regarding land acquisitions
• Handles regular calls with Developers to understand evolving needs
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

  • High School Grad / GED
  • Associates Degree or Equivalent Experience
  • Experience: 6+ years
  • Valid Driver's License (NON CDL)
