Field Site Director - Military Veterans

Applied Materials has a high-level position opportunity for a recognized expert within the semiconductor or related industry.
This Field Site Director position is a strategic role managing the Customer and Business Operations for a key semiconductor customer in the US. In this position, based in Manassas, VA, you will lead key strategic programs and be the main customer interface for all areas, you will also work with a team of approximately 20 highly specialized service maintenance engineers.
This Site Director role will put your highly specialized experience and talent to work in a fast-growing environment at Applied Materials. You may be called upon to anticipate internal or external business challenges, as well as to recommend process and strategy improvements. Your input will help guide organizational strategy, and you will be responsible to achieve key milestones and objectives in a context of key nodal transfers, ramps, and overall customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Report to the Global Business Operations Senior Director.
- Direct and manage activities for advanced semiconductor manufacturer including people management, program management, and customer satisfaction.
- Responsible for safety and quality performance at the site.
- Key focus areas are improving Applied’s year over year Cost of Ownership metrics, managing complex ramp schedules and activities to achieve fast qualification, improving the scorecard performance, and most important improving the overall customer experience.
- Drive communication at the executive level of the site and executive level within Applied to achieve mutual goals.
- Coordinate efforts between product groups in Applied and the global Micron account, this will require drawing on resources around the globe to help support fab objectives.
- Coordinating between the product groups, service groups to ensure ramp milestones are executed to committed performance.
- Grow our service and product business at the site, including SW and HW upgrades, gaining strategic market share and achieving aggressive revenue targets.
- Provide approval guidelines and leadership to reporting managers in the area of long-term program, strategy, and process design.
- Coordinating with transfer team as the sending technology partner to implement lessons learned for future nodal transfer(s).
- Anticipate future customer needs and direct the delivery of customer service commitments. Own the overall site responsibility for customer satisfaction.
- Ensure that the site maintains a workforce with the requisite skills and capabilities to meet current and future customer service requirements. Is responsible for individual and employee development and employee satisfaction.
- Work with senior business group management team to ensure that such programs, strategies, and processes address high value problems for the Business Unit and are aligned with the organization’s direction.
- Define performance metrics and reports on the site's progress against business unit and account specific goals.
Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Higher
- 10 years plus of relevant experience.
- Extensive and highly regarded expertise in your field – semiconductor or related industry.
- Experience in strategic planning and business analytics.
- High level Customer Management experience.
- Ability to lead, inspire and motivate teams.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate complex ideas, anticipate potential objections and persuade others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view.
- Excellent knowledge of management methods and techniques.
- Process Improvement and strong decision-making skills.
- Strong presentation and negotiation skills.

$176,000.00 - $242,000.00The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on multiple factors including location, hire grade, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and with consideration of internal equity of our current team members. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as participation in a bonus and a stock award program, as applicable.
For all sales roles, the posted salary range is the Target Total Cash (TTC) range for the role, which is the sum of base salary and target bonus amount at 100% goal achievement.
