Pay: $24.50 an hour.
Summary: Drives truck equipped with auxiliary concrete mixer to deliver concrete mix to job sites by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Drives truck under loading hopper to receive sand, gravel, cement, admixtues and water and starts mixer.
- Fills water tank with water.
- Drives truck to location for unloading.
- Moves levers on truck to release concrete down truck chute into wheelbarrow or other conveying container or directly into area to be poured with concrete.
- Cleans truck after loading and delivery to prevent concrete from hardening in/on mixer and on truck.
- Carries and assembles concrete chute(s).
- Climb ladder attached after loading to inspect the concrete for the proper slump requirement.
- Fill out the delivery ticket with delivery times, receiving signature, water added and other information as directed by management.
- Use the radio and GPS status units to communicate with dispatch.
- Interacts with customers and contractors at job sites.
- Daily Pre-Trip and Post-Trip Safety Exams completed and signed. This is your first line of defense in protecting yourself from any potential Safety Hazards. You will be trained how to do these exams properly. If you have any questions about any safety hazards, ask your supervisor.

Education and/or Experience: Less than high school education; or up to one month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is frequently required to climb a ladder on side of delivery unit to inspect the concrete in the drum. The employee may be required to drive a delivery unit that is equipped with a manual transmission requiring the depressing of a clutch several times during the day. The employee may be required to clean the outside of the delivery unit with acid to remove hardened concrete. The employee may be required to perform simple maintenance on ready mix vehicles and perform other activities around the plant as deemed necessary.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions. Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) including hard hats, safety glasses and ear protection will be provided and required during these times. whenever outside of the office, breakroom or vehicle.
