WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview):

Ensures materials are received, stored, shipped and reported and recommends improvements to operations of the warehouse to optimize processes and inventory levels. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.

Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State and local regulations.

Must be able to report to the office Monday-Friday. Flexibility to work long hours and days for several weeks at a time – during peak season. 

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):

Ensure that materials are received, stored, shipped, and reported in accordance with established procedures.

Review effectiveness of operating procedures, maintenance, space utilization, and protection of equipment.

Make recommendations for improvements as required.

May initiate and communicate a variety of personnel actions including employment, termination, performance and salary reviews, disciplinary actions, scheduling and/or approving overtime.

Conquer projects and tasks per directions and think outside the box when opportunities exist increase efficiencies.

Work with all different types of personalities and skill sets – to maximize volunteer force as needed.  Drum up local support and increase support base.

Safely operate and utilize multiple styles of forklifts, pallet jacks and materials handling equipment.

Recruit and train volunteer forces with a wide range of experience and utilize them in all capacities.

Scope: Individual contributor that works under limited supervision. Apply subject matter knowledge.  Capacity to understand specific needs or requirements to apply skills/knowledge.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):

Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.

Management Experience: N/A

Skills & Abilities: Ability to work on a team.

Travel: May travel and participate in meetings and conferences.

*Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU THE COMPETITIVE EDGE (Preferred Qualifications):

Experience in inventory management systems

Experience supervising in warehouse setting

Bilingual in Spanish is a plus

Forklift certification

Physical Requirements

Depending on work assignment, the ability to stand, walk and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of up to 50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read technical information. Overall mobility is essential. May include sitting for long periods of time, driving a vehicle and working under challenging conditions.
