Basic Job Functions:

The Logistics Coordinator at Nucor Steel Arkansas plays a crucial role in our operations.  This position is part of a dynamic Material Handling team ensuring that our transportation processes run smoothly and efficiently. Analytical skills will be key in generating insightful reports such as freight reconciliation and outbound analysis to make data-driven decisions. Communication is essential as the Logistic Coordinator will be the bridge between Sales and our transportation partners to optimize logistics to ultimately take care of our customers.  The successful candidate will assist in the following activities:

  • Contract and freight management of all transportation modes
  • Negotiate logistics rates for new destinations
  • Report analysis such as freight reconciliation and outbound report.
  • Monitoring logistics market to plan strategies and communicate adjustments
  • Communication with transportation partners, Sales Department, IT Department, Nucor Logistics Center, Shipping Operations and Truck Scales.
  • Work with tools such as the IntelliTrans traffic management system, AS400, Carrier Point, PC Miler, railroads websites, etc.
  • Additional activities as necessary in our team environment to drive success with the team

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Intermediate/Advanced Excel is preferred
  • Analytical and data analysis experience
  • Minimum of one year of prior freight/logistics experience
  • College Degree and/or equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of one year of prior experience with truck, rail and barge industries.
  • Experience with truck, rail and barge industries.
  • Knowledge of shipping operations
  • Experience with tools such as: IntelliTrans traffic management system, AS400, Carrier Point, etc.

 

Must have supervisor and/or manager recommendation and must be able to perform all essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
