Engineering Technician II – Quality Assurance - Military Veterans

The National Security Sector with Leidos has an opening for an Engineering Tech II supporting our NATSC contract in Newport, RI.

Primary Responsibilities

The candidate, under the direction of the Quality Assurance Manager, will support the efforts of the Naval Array Technical Support Center (NATSC) Quality Assurance Department. NATSC is the depot level repair activity for US Navy surface and submarine towed sonar arrays on a Government Owed-Contractor Operated (GOCO) facility located at Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) Newport Division, Newport RI.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Quality Assurance Receiving Department assistance.
  • Perform data entry using online database systems. Maintain records within Receiving Department and scan appropriate documents for accurate record keeping.
  • Evaluation/Inspection of work performed in accordance with Government generated Work Instructions, drawings, specifications, ECPs and other approved guidance.
  • Perform receipt inspections under the guidance of the Receiving Inspector and general inspections as needed.

Basic Qualifications

The candidate will have the following minimum required experience and qualifications:

  • High school/vocational school diploma or GED certificate.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD secret level clearance. Must have a minimum of a DOD Interim secret level clearance to start in this position.
  • Familiar with standard computer operation and Microsoft Office products.
  • Familiar with basic measuring tools such as calipers/gauges.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Active US DOD security clearance at the SECRET level.
  • Prior work experience at the NATSC Towed Array depot repair facility.
  • Prior experience using computer/network based inventory management and job tracking systems, specifically NATSC Depot Application (NDA).
  • Prior experience using computer/network based drawing/specification systems.
  • Familiar with Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC) processes and procedures related to Depot operations.

This role is covered by the Service Contract Act. This position will pay $23.27 per hour.
