Summary: The Enrollment & Eligibility Specialist performs underwriting, eligibility and enrollment functions pertaining to our private exchange business. The position requires timely and accurate response and resolution of client specific requirements in order to ensure appropriate access to health care services. Successful candidates will have strong decision making and analytical abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the timely and accurate response to and resolution of client specific requirements in order to ensure appropriate access to health care services:
- Respond quickly and accurately to all requests and inquiries, demonstrating expertise and knowledge of products and processes. Facilitate escalations when appropriate.
- Researches, analyzes and resolves membership applications and/or electronic enrollment reports for processing.
- Effectively communicate with clients, brokers and carriers to confirm information submitted is accurate and ensure the timely effectuation of new coverages and changes to existing coverages.
- Respond to sales and broker inquiries regarding the status of new applications.
- Maintain a thorough and up-to-date understanding of health insurance carrier eligibility guidelines and processes. Serve as the go-to resource for addressing documentation and process requirements.
- Support annual open enrollment initiatives and the annual/quarterly plan renewal process.
- Participate in efforts related to the development and documentation of department policies and procedures.
- Navigate a computerized data entry system and other relevant applications.
- Additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:
- Excellent communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively multi-task and possess excellent attention to detail with exceptional follow-up skills.
- Analytical skills with the ability to learn and apply new concepts and technologies quickly and efficiently.
- Proven track record of dependability and reliability with an exemplary attendance record
- Self-motivated with the ability to work well independently and as part of a team with minimal direct supervision.
- Passion for driving innovation, encouraging growth, and striving for constant improvement.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, with the ability to analyze and manipulate data from multiple sources.
Education and/or Experience:
- BA/BS degree in business or related field.
- Prior experience in the health insurance industry is a plus.

The base salary range for this position is $x45,000– $61,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
