GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, repair, and replace hardware and install software for computers.
- Assist in image deployment.
- Provide support for Help Desk, as needed.
- Work closely with other staff in Information Technology as part of a larger support effort for assistance to faculty and staff.
- Assist in inventory and disposal of hardware projects, as needed.
- Assist the Audiovisual Equipment Technician with A/V related work and act as back-up for this position, as needed.
- Provide Tier 2 support, technical assistance, and advice to clients and other users.
- Field telephone calls and email messages from clients who are seeking guidance on technical problems.
- Assess users' issues and map out solutions to resolve those issues.
- Provide ongoing training for instructors and Help Desk staff in the use of computer software and hardware.
- Log and update tickets in Help Desk software.
- Attend training courses to maintain technical skills, as needed.
- Assist/support other members of the IT Department with their projects and responsibilities.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Job Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
- Associate degree and/or Technical School Certification.
- Excellent hardware and software troubleshooting skills.
- Proficiency with latest Windows operating systems.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to train, schedule, and motivate others.
- Knowledge of desktop computer repair problems.
- Experience troubleshooting local area networks.
- Effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to work with people with all levels of information technology expertise in all employment classifications and organizational levels.
- Ability to clearly document problems and solutions.

Additional Information:
COMPENSATION : $1,069.02/week, 37.5 hours/week; Grade 16, Step I. AFSCME Unit Position that includes participation in a comprehensive employee benefits program. Candidates may qualify for placement above entry-level salary if currently employed in the state system.
