Business Financial Manager - Military Veterans

Job Summary:
Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Business Financial Manager (BFM) to join our team on a 100% remote basis. The Business Financial Manager will oversee the creation and management of program budgets and justifications, conduct financial tracking and analysis, assist with solicitation and acquisition materials, and ensure comprehensive tracking and coordination of funding forecasts-to-actuals.
Responsibilities of the Business Financial Manager:
- Assist Program Managers (PMs) in crafting and implementing program budgets, including predicting, monitoring, and evaluating expenditures.
- Create and oversee financial documents such as OTAs, grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements.
- Track and oversee program milestones and deliverables, ensuring adherence to funding agreements.
- Monitor and report on program performance metrics, offering insights to PMs and leadership.
- Develop and sustain financial models and forecasts for designated programs.
- Examine financial data and trends, identifying potential risks and opportunities.
- Generate financial reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications of the Business Financial Manager:
- 5+ years of experience in a federal government financial management role, preferably in an R&D environment.
- Strong understanding of Federal financial regulations and accounting principles.
- Experience working with OTAs, grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements.
- Proficiency with financial modeling tools and budgeting processes.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Active Public Trust or the ability to obtain one.
Compensation for the Business Financial Manager:
- Salary Range: $100,000-$140,000/year **depending on experience**
