Job Summary
Project Controls Specialist I (PCS-I) is a position under close supervision that is responsible for aspects of project control assignments as defined by the hiring Business Unit.
The position is responsible for performing specific and limited portions of project control assignments using prescribed methods and tools.
This is an entry level position that requires understanding and application of basic project controls principles and associated project controls software and tools.
PCS-I's may be exposed to more complex aspects of project controls including estimating, scheduling, project change management, and cost control for orientation and training purposes.
Responsibilities
Generate Periodic Project Controls Analytics (100% in Total)
- Assist in creating periodic project analysis of related controls metrics to support communication of assigned functions to project leadership.
- This involves interpretation of trends and indicators through gathering, validating and analyzing data to support project performance metrics.
- Assists project leadership in providing adequate project communications as appropriate.
- Assist in tracking, trending and initiating action for changes to project scope, schedule and cost.
- Identifies, assesses, gains approval, and initiates change requests in a manner compliant with internal governance, standards and procedures.
- PCS-I assists with change control associated with contract terms and conditions as appropriate.
- Participates in benchmarking and assessment initiatives relevant to project controls as assigned.
- Identify improvement opportunities, recommend adoption of Company and Industry best practices, and propose actions to address gaps in performance.
- Participates in development of project schedules, cost estimates, cash flow, forecasts, change control (scope, cost or schedule) and communications associated with project controls.
- Participate in development of commercial specifications and exhibits for proposed project contracts with regards to elements of project controls.
Basic/Required Qualifications
- Associates degree in Finance, Project Management, Business or Engineering
- In lieu of Associates degree, High School/GED and 2 years related work experience
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Finance, Project Management, Business or Engineering
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency: Software including MS Project, Primavera, Financial Related Software, MS Office Suite, Power BI, Project or Portfolio Management software platforms.
- Demonstrated acumen in communication and presentation.
- Proficiency: Knowledge of project management or project controls concepts. Skill in scheduling or financial management tools or software.
- Demonstrates collaborative team work
