Position Summary The Director of Financial Management will lead the finance department, ensuring the financial health and compliance of the organization in alignment with the School strategic plan. This role involves supervising the Business Manager and overseeing both pre-award and post-award grant processes. The Director of Finance will be responsible for financial management, strategic planning, financial reporting, and risk management. Additionally, the role will involve fostering a collaborative and high-performance center.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assists in managing the operating budget of the School of Public Health. Forecasts financial activity based on known patterns and financial expectations. Plans the use of income from endowment funds and gift funds. Manages reserves. Provides ongoing communication of school's strategic goals and objectives and the budgetary impact of these initiatives.
- Oversees the entire grant administration process, including developing and submitting proposals, ensuring accuracy and compliance, managing awarded grants' financials, and providing oversight for budget reallocations and project changes.
- Works closely with the school's departments in developing annual budget projection models and three-year budget forecasts, monitoring performance against budget, defining funds for new program initiatives and assuring departments and programs fully understand funding specifications and restrictions. Implements new budget programs as approved by senior administration. Makes policy recommendations regarding new and existing programs to enhance financial performance and compliance.
- Monitors various revenue streams and receivables and proactively addresses financial concerns based on performance. Revenue streams include, but are not limited to: all student tuition accounts; joint programs; endowments, alumni gifts and scholarship gifts; auxiliary services.
- Conducts year-end closing, quarterly reconciliation and oversees variance analysis and explanations for year-to-year and actual-to-budget comparisons; meets with department leadership to discuss and devise a strategy to address potential challenges and accreditation purpose.Â

Salary Range $75,200.00 - $128,800.00 / Annually
The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
