ProofPoint L3 Engineer - Military Veterans

  • Experience with Proofpoint: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience with Proofpoint solutions, especially Proofpoint T3 (Threat Protection) and other security features like email filtering, threat intelligence, and anti-spam.
  • Domain Integration Expertise: Ability to integrate multiple domains into a Proofpoint POD setup and ensure seamless delivery and security across diverse domains.
  • Email Security Protocols: Strong understanding of email security protocols (SPF, DKIM, DMARC, and TLS) and their configuration within Proofpoint.
  • Troubleshooting & Diagnostics: Experience with advanced troubleshooting techniques to resolve issues within Proofpoint services, including email delivery issues, false positives/negatives, and security incidents.
  • Scripting and Automation: Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) to automate processes, deploy configurations, and integrate Proofpoint with other security solutions.
  • Managed Services Experience: Prior experience working in a managed services or security services provider environment, supporting enterprise-level clients.
  • Security Mindset: Knowledge of security best practices related to email security, anti-phishing, and threat prevention.
  • Client-Facing Skills: Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact with clients and stakeholders and explain complex technical concepts in clear, understandable terms.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, especially in the context of securing enterprise email systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proofpoint Certifications: Proofpoint Certified Technical Professional (PCTP), Proofpoint Certified Specialist (PCS), or other relevant Proofpoint certifications.
  • Cloud & Virtualization Knowledge: Experience working with cloud platforms such as Office 365, Google Workspace, or AWS, and integrating Proofpoint in these environments.
  • Advanced Security Certifications: CISSP, CEH, or other relevant security certifications.
  • Experience with SIEM & Security Tools: Familiarity with Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems or other security tools used for monitoring and alerting within the Proofpoint platform.

  • Proofpoint Deployment & Configuration: Assist in the deployment and configuration of Proofpoint T3 solutions, including email security, anti-phishing, anti-malware, and threat protection features.
  • Domain Integration: Integrate multiple domains into a unified Proofpoint POD, ensuring seamless communication, protection, and management of email traffic across different domains.
  • Incident Management: Work closely with the security operations team to respond to security incidents, manage alerts, and perform root cause analysis and resolution of email-related security events.
  • Ongoing Support & Troubleshooting: Provide tier-3 technical support to internal teams and clients, troubleshooting complex issues related to Proofpoint services and email security protocols (e.g., DKIM, SPF, DMARC).
  • Client Interaction: Collaborate with clients to understand their email security needs and assist in configuring Proofpoint solutions to meet their specific requirements.
  • Optimization & Tuning: Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of the Proofpoint platform, ensuring optimal security, reliability, and efficiency in the managed services environment.
  • Automation & Integration: Assist in automating deployment and integration tasks using scripts or API-based solutions, and integrate Proofpoint with third-party systems, such as SIEM or endpoint protection solutions.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Create and maintain documentation for deployment, configuration, troubleshooting, and best practices to ensure consistency across managed services environments.
  • Security Best Practices: Ensure that Proofpoint configurations and integrations follow security best practices, mitigating risks and improving the overall security posture of the organization’s email infrastructure.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams (engineering, security, and operations) to ensure a seamless managed service delivery and continuous improvement of the Proofpoint platform.
