Requirements Georgetown University's Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, part of Georgetown University Medical Center , seeks to prevent, treat, and cure cancers by linking scientific discovery, expert and compassionate patient care, quality education and partnership with the community - guided by the principle of cura personalis, 'care for the whole person.' Georgetown Lombardi is the research engine driving clinical cancer research at MedStar Health in the D.C. Metro area and Hackensack Meridian Health in northern New Jersey. The Research Assistant in the Cancer Prevention and Control Program of the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center will assist in recruiting Chinese- and English-speaking participants from communities and clinics, conduct telephone interviews, and perform data entry. They will coordinate with laboratory workers, attending study-related research meetings and interacting with study staff on a regular basis. In addition, this position will be involved in assisting Dr. Wang and collaborative researchers to deliver materials and related administrative work. These functions are performed in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations and Georgetown University Medical Center's philosophy, procedures, and standards. Duties include but are not limited to: Oversee all project management and data collection including patient interviews and updating database (40%). Conduct data analysis to generate reports and coordinate with research team members to achieve research tasks, which is the general or major day-to-day duties of the role (40%). Assist in research-related logistics including meetings, data shipments, and mailing (20%). Work Interactions This position is central to the aims of our research studies in line with the objectives of the Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center. This research assistant will closely work with the PI to accomplish proposed research tasks so that the PI could have steady progress in data collection in order to report to the funding agency and disseminate the results to the public. Without hiring a research assistant, the PI will spend too much time in performing basic level of research logistics such as telephone interviewing, patient enrollment, and corresponding with participants (mailing, coping, and data checkingetc.). This will be detrimental to the productively of the PI as a tenured faculty at Georgetown University. Requirements and Qualifications M.S or M.A. in the social, behavioral, or health sciences is preferred. B.A. and B.S with experience in social and behavioral, health research would be considered Computer skills in Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, including English and/or Chinese word process and data processors Candidates with proficiency in both English and Chinese languages is a plus Work Mode Designation This position has been designated as Hybrid . Pay Range: The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is: $18.28 - $27.33 Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
