Software Engineer, Senior GBQ.023 - Military Veterans

Torch Technologies is seeking a Software Engineer Senior located at Maxwell Air Force Base-Gunter Annex in Montgomery, AL, within the AFLCMC/GB Business and Enterprise Systems Directorate (BES), to support The Agile Support Office. First, the Agile Support Office is working to identify and document the technical/operational baseline for all BES programs and standardize and optimize how BES programs establish and use technical environments and supporting infrastructures to assist program teams in delivering high-confidence programs.

Responsibilities:

This position requires a highly motivated individual with experience in software engineering to included but not limited to the duties below:

  • Experience with Java and/or .NET programming languages.
  • Experience with Jira, Jira Service Management, Confluence and Bitbucket
  • Experience with Jira plugin development, including custom workflows, screens and fields
  • Familiarity with Confluence API and scripting capabilities
  • Strong understanding of containerization using Docker and experience with AWS ECS Fargate
  • Experience in software development, including design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Strong understanding of Agile Development methodologies and DevOps practices
  • Experience with version control system such as Git
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex technical issues and develop creative solutions

Job Requirements

  • Master's or Doctorate Degree in a related field and ten years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five years of which must be in the DoD
  • OR, bachelor's degree in a related field and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in the DoD
  • OR, 15 years of directly related experience with proper certifications eight of which must be in the DoD.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and hold an active DoD Security Clearance (Secret). Must maintain clearance at required level.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Atlassian Tool Suite
  • Agile Development Methodologies
  • Confluence
  • BitBucket
  • Information System Management Tool (ISMT)
  • CompTIA Security + CE - Preferred
  • Advanced Atlassian Toolset Experience
  • Experience with Atlassian plugins, such as ScriptRunner or Automation for Jira
  • Knowledge of Atlassian Data Center offerings, including Jira Data Center and Confluence Data Center
  • Experience with EKS (Elastic Container Service for Kubernetes) and ELK stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)
  • Familiarity with AWS services, such as Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch experience with AWS security, including IAM roles, policies, and compliance.
  • Experience with other programming languages such as Python, C# or JavaScript
  • Familiarity with machine learning or artificial intelligence technologies
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Previous experience working on DoD installations.
Desired Certifications:

• Atlassian certifications, such as ACP-100 (Jira Administrator) or ACP-120 (Confluence Administrator)

• AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Developer or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator

• Java or.NET certifications such as Oracle Certified Java Programmer or Microsoft Certified .NET Developer
