We are looking for a talented Driveline Engineering Student to Work to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Cummins Inc. facility in Troy , MI.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Enhancing Design Accuracy : By supporting engineers and designers with layout and drawing modifications, you'll ensure precision and quality in component designs.
- Optimizing Component Fit : Creating clearance layouts for static and dynamic components will help in identifying and resolving potential fit issues early in the design process.
- Ensuring Dimensional Integrity : Calculating dimensional stack-ups will ensure that all components fit together correctly, maintaining the integrity of the overall design.
- Providing In-Depth Analysis : Your engineering analysis and reports will offer valuable insights for improving existing components and developing new ones.
- Supporting Laboratory Testing : Hands-on support in the lab will be crucial for testing and developing components, ensuring they meet required standards and specifications.
- Creating Detailed Drawings : Producing 2-D CAD drawings and 3-D models will support design change requests (DCRs) and product change control requests (PCCRs), facilitating smooth project progression.
- Improving Product Development : Your contributions will streamline the product development process, leading to more efficient and effective outcomes.
- Collaborating Across Teams : Working closely with project and product engineers, designers, and lab technicians will foster a collaborative environment, driving innovation and success.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Cooperative Education Student who is pursuing a Bachelor Degree in Engineering.
- The student works in support of the Driveline engineering department by applying their academic studies to the practical application of an on the job experience.
- The Co-op Student works under close supervision to learn about aspects of engineering that they can apply after graduation
Dimensions
- Position works along side the Product Engineers or Product Designers.
- Position carries out duties as necessary to complete a product design or test and development of the product.
- Communicates product design or test and development through written and oral skills either internal to Meritor internal and external customers.
Education / Experience
- Pursuing a Bachelor of Engineering Degree.
- Demonstrated capability and knowledge of basic mathematics and sciences.
- Engineering Drawing or CAD experience desired .
- Demonstrated written and oral communication skills
