Director of Learning and Academic Support - School of Nursing Job Summary #CA-SS The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing (SON) is seeking a full-time Director of Learning and Academic Support reporting to the Associate Dean of Student Affairs. This is a student-facing position that supports student learning and provides resources to help students reach their full academic potential. Using extensive knowledge of health professions education and learning theory, the director provides leadership and expertise to teams across the school of nursing to develop programming that optimizes student learning outcomes, including graduation and board pass rates. This role works to establish and maintain positive relationships with students, faculty, staff, UC Davis partners, and the community it serves. The Director of Learning and Academic Support works with many campus partners and students to maintain and achieve student success which requires diplomacy and discretion. Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position Bachelor's degree in nursing, higher education, adult learning, and/or student affairs or equivalent experience in an area related to adult education and learning Experience in program planning, development, implementation, and evaluation. Experience in or the skills to work collaboratively and communicate effectively in an interprofessional academic environment; strong interpersonal and communication skills; and ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community. Supervisory and/or leadership experience. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in nursing, higher education, adult learning, and/or student affairs or equivalent experience in an area related to adult education and learning PhD, EdD degree, or educational psychologist or equivalent experience in an area related to adult education and learning Experience working with graduate students particularly in nursing or health related fields. Experience with curriculum and programmatic development as well as assessing learning outcomes at the level of courses, programs, school and university. Experience assessing student academic needs and coaching students in implementing academic success plans. Knowledge and understanding of adult learning styles and barriers to learning including learning disabilities, ADHD, common psychological problems that influence academic success. Versed in culturally relevant pedagogy, trauma-informed education practices. Ability to conduct psycho-educational evaluations. Has strategic planning and change management skills. Preferred candidate will be innovative in student and faculty support through using technology, evidence-based practices, and data-driven approaches.
