Lead Analyst - Regulatory & Tariffs - Military Veterans

The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from $76,186 to $95,233

Job Summary

This Lead Analyst position is with the New York Regulatory Services Team and is responsible for reviewing and calendaring Commission Orders and Reports and tracking regulatory compliance obligations across NYSEG and RG&E and multiple business areas. The position also regularly interacts with the Department of Public Service Staff (NY regulator). The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, will be self-motivated, organized, with a willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and develops information, data, and processes to meet formal and informal data requests from regulators and other parties. Coordinates and/or prepares compliance filings with the State Regulatory Commission
  • Coordinates operating company (OpCo) involvement in regulatory proceedings. Monitors various regulatory proceedings, schedules, and decisions to keep the OpCo informed of regulatory activities and issues.
  • Provides technical advice and guidance across OpCo business area and to outside subject matter experts. Provides support through research and qualitative/quantitative analysis, including rate case support
  • Provides support for expert witness testimony of the Company's State and Federal rate regulatory proceedings and collaboratives
  • May develop, maintain, and administer official company tariffs
  • May provide subject matter expertise in the design and development of new and/or changes to existing customer billing systems (and processes) to meet regulatory requirements
  • May act as a litigation case manager for civil proceedings which includes preparation of court documents and conducting legal and regulatory research. May act as Knowledge Manager (including training new users and assisting managers) with Content Server.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with minimum of 5 years relevant experience. Associates degree with a minimum of 7 years relevant experience required.
  • Experience in managing projects.
  • Strong communication (written and verbal), and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong analytical capabilities

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in regulatory compliance and the utility industry.
  • Prior knowledge of regulatory tariff process
  • Knowledge of cost accounting, statistical techniques, and rate design principles.
  • Knowledge of Company databases and reporting capabilities.
  • Document management or data management experience.
  • Paralegal certification is desirable.
  • Knowledge of Power BI.
