Key Job Responsibilities
1. Conduct assigned regulatory projects to develop, maintain and support components, products, systems and/or services per market demands.
2. Conduct regulatory evaluations including investigations, basic calculations and tests that have well defined requirements and desired outcomes.
3. Provide practical and tactical solutions to solve problems that are associated with regulatory projects or evaluations.
4. Take responsibility for one's own learning and development for the mutual benefit of one's self and the organization.
5. Act as consultant to those who are designing/redesigning components, products and systems with regulatory requirements.
6. Participate in and support programs for effective communication of regulatory issues to ensure compliance with global standards for design and safety of components, products, systems and services.
7. Support continuous improvement to regulatory compliance processes used to design, develop, maintain, manufacture and support components, products, and/or services.
8. Participate in effective Change Management to achieve the desired organizational outcomes by successfully changing individual behaviors as needed.
Predominant Tasks
1. Manages projects to obtain appropriate certification and/or regulatory approvals
2. Reviews current designs or specific components, as assigned, for regulatory compliance.
3. Determine the cause of a regulatory problem and propose corrective action, if appropriate.
4. Meet with suppliers, as directed, concerning changes to, or new requirements for, their products.
5. Perform assigned evaluations, including calculations and testing as required, and consult with more experienced Engineers/Technologists or CTE for problem resolution.
6. Set up and perform engineering tests to well-defined requirements
7. Maintain awareness of and familiarity with Global and Regional regulations, standards and industry guidelines applicable to products.
8. Support Quality audits of suppliers, manufacturing sites and machines.
9. Review and approve engineering records for regulatory/certification compliance prior to release.
Qualifications/Requirements
1. Technology Degree in Engineering, Business or equivalent relevant discipline, required.
2. 4 years’ experience in design, machine application, mining industry, desired.
3. 3 years’ experience in regulatory compliance desired
4. Experience in the use of computer-aided design (CAD) tools desired.
5. Participation in implementing Lean Engineering principles desired.
6. Participation in effective Change Management implementation desired.
7. Experience in cross-functional team assignment(s) desired.
8. Certifications or demonstrated project management experience desired.
9. Professional registration and/or membership in committees and/or technical societies, beneficial.

The Komatsu North America Mining Distribution and Service group is a critical part of our Komatsu global organization. We, sell, install, service, provide parts and rebuild equipment, as well as provide digital solutions for our customers.
