Job Overview
The Product Support Sales Representative will work directly with the General Manager Product of Support and the local service department to ensure the customers’ needs are met by promoting sales of parts and services. The position is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships for all customers assigned within a defined territory and seen as a key communicator or trusted advisor. The successful candidate will demonstrate a high sense of urgency with detailed follow up. Heavy Equipment Industry Experience Minimum 2 years.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Increase parts and service sales opportunities with assigned customers in order to grow revenue, including consumables and commodities, service repairs, and undercarriage
- Prepare and present parts and service estimates to customers
- Grow company service presence through complete understanding of assigned customer’s fleet needs
- Document customer information in CRM and CDK to build comprehensive data base to include machine lists, customer contacts, influencers, and Parts and Service purchasers
- Knowledge of attachments to support and promote sales
- Promote current Parts marketing and sales programs to include New, Used, and All Makes opportunities
- Establish a system and regular contact schedule documenting all customer interactions in CRM
- Conduct routine machine visits completing 50-point walk around inspection and present to customer as well as Komatsu TYS Participation
- Promote product support technology to all customers and provide training on usage as needed
- Develop strong working relationship with mainline salesperson for assigned customers to form a strong support team for customers
- Establish long term partnership with internal and external customers, while growing and developing the market share within assigned territory
- Serve as the main point of contact for customers on equipment maintenance and repair
- Assist customers with emergency needs during non-scheduled workday/hours
- Leverage Komatsu parts and service initiatives to maximize margins and grow discretionary funds
- Communicate effectively with customers when discussing parts availability
- Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing demonstrations or diagnostic procedures
- Manage expectations and needs to prioritize customer needs against scheduling, parts availability, and down time
- Participate in local trade association functions
- Collections and PO management
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
- Mechanical aptitude with a strong competence in machine evaluation, under carriage measurement, and accurate quoting
- Proficient with a laptop computer and Microsoft programs (Teams, Excel, Word, Outlook etc.)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong customer service and relationship building skills
- Self-motivated and driven
- Detail oriented
- Strong organizational skills
- Knowledge in quote/sale conversation in a competitive market
- Must hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
- Must pass a background check and drug screen and physical test
- Must be able to read, write and communicate in English

Working Conditions
- Ability to carry, push, and lift up to 50lbs
- Ability to climb and stand for extended periods of time
- Able to work in all types of weather conditions (heat, cold, wind, rain, dust, and dirt)
- Travel as assigned for training or to perform work at other locations
Education and Experience
- A minimum of 2 years of customer facing sales experience and CRM or CDK reporting experience
- Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college, technical school, or equivalent combination of education or 6+ years in related industry roles
- Heavy equipment parts and service sales experience preferred
- Equipment repair experience a plus

The Komatsu North America Mining Distribution and Service group is a critical part of our Komatsu global organization. We, sell, install, service, provide parts and rebuild equipment, as well as provide digital solutions for our customers.
