Job Overview The College of Cooperative Education and Professional Studies? Office of Professional & Continuing Education is seeking an English for Speakers of Other Language (ESOL) Program Coordinator. This position would work with UC Aspire - a GED preparation, English language acquisition, and workforce development program funded in large part by the Ohio Department of Higher Education?s Aspire Grant. UC Aspire is located on the Victory Parkway campus, located at 2220 Victory Parkway. CCPS participates in the University?s alternative work program; this position may be hybrid/remote in accordance with UC policies. The ESOL Program Coordinator will plan, design, evaluate, modify, and coordinate the ESOL program for UC Aspire. With more than 150 ESOL students and growing, the ESOL Program Coordinator would coordinate ESOL programming including planning and scheduling classes, supporting ESOL instructors, and coordinating orientation and testing for ESOL students. In addition to overseeing ESOL programming, the ESOL Program Coordinator would spend up to 25% of their time on classroom instruction. Student support is a critical aspect of this position, as the ESOL Program Coordinator will serve as the point-of-contact support for the program?s ESOL students. Additionally, the Program Coordinator will forge partnerships with community partners, collaborate with CCPS Marketing and Communications to develop a marketing plan, and support prospective students in the enrollment process. Additionally, the Program Coordinator will encourage persistence among students through personalized contact and case management. This position is contingent on funding. Essential Functions ? Provide direct and/or indirect supervision to staff (e.g., classroom observations, time off requests) ? Plan and schedule classes in collaboration with UC Aspire director and in alignment with Aspire requirements. ? Serve as TABE CLAS-E testing coordinator. ? Forge partnerships within the university and community to identify new groups of students to serve and develop wraparound support services for students. ? Manage all aspects of the ESOL student lifecycle: support prospective students in the enrollment process; provide point-of-contact support to the program?s students; encourage persistence through personalized contact and case management; and conduct and coordinate post-exit surveys. ? Teach weekly synchronous classes and serve as LMS (Burlington English and Canvas) administrator; manage LMS enrollment. ? Collaborate with CCPS Marketing and Communications to increase awareness of UC Aspire programs. ? Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.   Required Education Bachelor's Degree. Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement. Required Experience One (1) year of program coordination experience. Additional Qualifications Considered ? Prior experience in teaching and working with adult learners, specifically ESOL learners. ? TESOL/TEFL/CELTA ? Experience working with grant-funded programs. ? Experience working with instructional technology, teaching virtually, and/or managing LMSs Physical Requirements/Work Environment Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
