Supply Chain Manager - Military Veterans

We are looking for a talented Supply Chain Manager to join our team specializing in Supply Chain Planning for our location in York, SC.

Job Summary:

Lead efforts within one or more Supply Chain functions including materials, production, inventory, logistics, demand management and order fulfillment. Ensures internal and external customers' expectations and requirements are met from end to end in each of the supply chains.

  • Enhance Communication : Developing and delivering multi-mode communications will ensure that you convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences, facilitating effective information exchange.


  • Promote Health and Safety : Championing proactive health and safety behaviors will contribute to an injury-free workplace and build an interdependent safety culture.


  • Optimize Manufacturing Processes : Integrating product design and manufacturing equipment engineering drawings will support the design and development of optimal manufacturing processes that meet product specifications.


  • Select Appropriate Equipment : By selecting manufacturing equipment that meets Cummins' specifications and project needs, you'll ensure that the equipment is suitable for the intended applications.


  • Drive Continuous Improvement : Using digital tools to model and simulate manufacturing processes will enable you to make data-driven decisions and drive continuous improvements in manufacturing performance.


  • Document Processes : Producing written manufacturing procedures in proper sequence will establish continuity and standardization in processes, ensuring that all stakeholders follow the correct procedures.


  • Design Ergonomic Workstations : Designing operator workstations that are safe, healthy, and ergonomic will contribute to an efficient work environment, balancing cost, quality, and delivery.




RESPONSIBILITIES

To be successful in this role you will need the following:





  • Ensure Efficient Operations : Manage daily operations across functions to maintain a dependable and efficient supply chain, ensuring smooth and consistent performance.


  • Lead Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement projects that align with Cummins Operating System and Functional Excellence, leveraging common processes, tools, and information systems to enhance efficiency.


  • Support Corporate Initiatives: Collaborate on Corporate Supply Chain initiatives and lead cross Business Unit planning processes to ensure alignment and coherence within the company.


  • Mitigate Supplier Constraints: Work with functional stakeholders to address and mitigate long-term supplier constraints, ensuring a stable and reliable supply chain.


  • Establish Collaborative Processes: Develop common supply chain processes and procedures by building strong business partner relationships, fostering collaboration and consistency.


  • Strategic Problem Solving: Approach daily problem solving and continuous improvement opportunities both strategically and tactically to meet performance targets and drive operational excellence.


  • Develop and Monitor KPIs: Create, understand, and improve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track performance, analyze operational trends, and develop corrective action plans as needed.


  • Manage and Develop Staff: Prepare and manage an annual operating plan, including expenses, resources, and capital. Coach and develop staff, setting goals for training, development, performance, and career planning to build a strong and capable team.




Education, Licenses, Certifications:

College, university, or equivalent degree required.

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:

Significant level of experience required. 5-7 years of relevant experience preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS





  • Manage material flow into offsite 3PL, working closely with the 3PL management team.


  • Manage work scope and material storage at offsite warehouse, optimizing CDBS outsourced manufacturing.


  • Redefine / create materials flow within the York site.




Please note that the salary range provided is a good faith estimate on the applicable range. The final salary offer will be determined after considering relevant factors, including a candidate’s qualifications and experience, where appropriate.
