Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost Accounting Manager to join our dynamic finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing the cost accounting functions within the Longview operations facility. This role requires a deep understanding of cost accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and cost control. Key Job Responsibilities
1. Create and maintain annual the annual business plan, including related forecasts and reports
2. Analyze Sales, SVM, OVC & CC variances against the business plan/forecast to determine root causes and provide explanations
to top management
3. Create and maintain the Standard Variable Cost (SVC) for all plant produced machines, including material cost, subcon, freight,
surcharges, labor and overhead costs
4. Update and maintain month-end reports, including the P&L, headcount, DLVO, and plant/labor performance metrics
5. Partner with Operations and department managers to track and monitor departmental expenses
6. Provide analytics, operational metrics, and insights to operations and finance personnel
7. Manage and control the standard cost setting process and all cost related fields in SAP, including serving as the backup. This
includes reviewing purchasing info records, bills of material, and labor routings for accuracy
8. Own OE machine standard costs and review prepared monthly cost estimates. Coordinate and manage the monthly analysis for
machine costs with Commercial management
7. Manage product cost investigations by comparing current product designs to proposed changes in designs by analyzing Materials,
Routings, Standard Costs, Info Records, Production Orders, and Material Masters.
9. Facilitate the month-end closing to ensure a timely, accurate, and efficient closing process
10. Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. CMA and/or CPA preferred
5-7 years’ experience in manufacturing accounting processes and operations.
Ability to read, understand, and analyze production order blueprints is a plus.
Experience working with SAP production management software and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, etc.).
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong critical thinking and intuitive problem-solving skills with an attention to detail required. Healthy professional skepticism and inquisitiveness.

The Komatsu North America Mining Distribution and Service group is a critical part of our Komatsu global organization. We, sell, install, service, provide parts and rebuild equipment, as well as provide digital solutions for our customers.
