Aerospace Technologies is seeking an ambitious Sr. Manager of User Experience Design to lead the Honeywell User
Experience (HUE) Design Team; ready to deliver outstanding end-to-end
experiences across every touchpoint of the customer and user journey. Our team
is nimble and agile, with limited hierarchy and lots of ownership. Youll
report directly to the Director of User Experience Design and lead a team of
highly talented designers across three regions (US, Mexico, and India). We're
looking for someone who is driven to deliver true customer value, passionate
about creating differentiated user experiences, and competent at architecting and
defining new software, hardware, and service offerings.
As
a Manager of the HUE Design Team, you will set the design direction and
contribute directly to creating the next generation of user experiences on a
wide variety of leading-edge products and services. This can include Commercial
and Military aircraft avionics, Space programs, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs),
Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), Artificial Intelligence (AI), web-based and
app-based software, and even virtual reality solutions. You will collaborate
with business partners to develop needs-based market segmentation, personas,
product roadmaps, and defining UX outcomes. You will be the voice for our
customers and users in strategic business and annual operating planning, as
well as serve as the functional decision maker for HUE throughout product
development.
You
will use your design expertise and business acumen to deliver exceptional value
to our global organization, through team leadership, facilitating workshops, design
reviews, presentations, and a hands-on pragmatic usage of time, technology, and
resources. You will be responsible for developing and growing the HUE Design Team,
creating efficiencies, and ensuring design consistency across the entire
product portfolio.

KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES
-Facilitating workshops and design sprints across multi-disciplinary teams to develop business cases, product and service design concepts, and defining UX metrics and outcomes.
-Leading user-centered design initiatives across a wide range of projects.
-Development of processes and best practices to ensure consistency of execution in design-related initiatives. This may include Figma/Miro/PowerPoint artifacts templates, workshop formats, new-hire onboarding and training, etc.
-Coaching and developing both designers and stakeholders to define and/or improve experiences across a wide range of offerings.
-Managing a diverse team of highly skilled designers with backgrounds in user experience design, visual design, interaction design, and industrial design.

YOUMUST HAVE
-Bachelors Degree in a Design-related field of expertise (or 15+ years of experience without a degree).
-15+ years of combined experience in User Experience Design, Product Design & Development, and Service Design.
-Experience managing and/or leading a team of multi-disciplinary designers, working in Agile/Scrum/Waterfall environments.

-Significant knowledge, understanding, and applied
application of human-centered design principles, and leadership and
facilitation of design thinking workshops across broader teams with
diverse business and technical backgrounds.
-Experience with leadership, project planning, scoping
and execution of projects in a phase-gate and/or Agile/Scrum environment.
-Proficient with User Research, Ethnography, synthesis
of data collected while conducting research to turn insights into user
need definitions and UX metrics (acting as the voice of the customer).
-Proficient User Experience Design practices, e.g.,
customer journey mapping, experience diagramming, service diagramming, task
flow analysis, low fidelity & high-fidelity GUI design and prototyping,
etc.
-Fluent with sketching design ideas and using
prototyping tools (ex: Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD)
-Experience with Industrial Design and/or Hardware
Designwith and without graphical user interfaces.
-Familiarity with enterprise-level Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystems and platforms.
-Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
-Excellent collaboration and teamwork attitude.
-Ability to drive innovation and creativity.
-Strong insight into usability and accessibility ethics and principles.
-Passion for creating exceptional user experiences!
-Outstanding demonstratable application of User
Experience Design principles, design concepts and ideation, solving
complex problems, providing value to both the business and the customer,
and commercialized products that exist in the world.
-Previous experience designing web, mobile, and SaaS
solutions for Pilots, Aircraft Maintainers, Operators, and Aircraft
Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs).
