    Primary Responsibilities

    The Warehouse Associate will be responsible for operating a forklift to load, unload, and move materials within the warehouse while adhering to safety protocols. As with all positions at KeHE Distributors, we expect that all actions will be consistent with KeHE’s Mission, Vision, and Values.


    Essential Functions

    DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Operates a forklift to move materials, pallets, and products safely and efficiently within the warehouse.
    • Loads and unloads trucks, trailers, and containers using a forklift, electric pallet jack, or hand-jack while following proper loading procedures.
    • Fills orders while maintaining inventory control through lot and date code verification.
    • Performs data entry into a warehouse management system.
    • Assists with inventory counts and audits by accurately recording materials moved and reporting any discrepancies.
    • Conducts pre-operational checks on the equipment and inspects materials for damage or defects before loading or unloading. Reports any issues to the supervisor.
    • Adheres to all safety regulations and guidelines while operating any equipment and performing all job duties.
    • Performs routine maintenance on the forklift, such as charging, checking fluid levels, and cleaning to ensure proper functioning.
    • Keep work areas clean and organized, including removing debris, spills, and obstacles from aisles and storage areas.
    • Accurately receives and interprets shipping/receiving documentation including but not limited to bills of lading and shipping manifests.
    • Other duties and projects as assigned.

    Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

    SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

    • Strong understanding of safety procedures and guidelines for forklift operation.
    • Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely and effectively.
    • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness.
    • Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
    • Attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks.
    • Flexibility to work various shifts and overtime as needed.
    • Looking up data, performing data entry and running computer reports
    • Able to scan, copy, file, and email documentation in an organized manner.
    • Ability to properly care for time and temperature sensitive products and shipments.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • High school diploma or GED required.
    • 1+ years of experience operating a forklift in a warehouse environment.
    • Valid forklift operator certification/license.

    • These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.
