General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS), a premier provider of ordnance weapons and tactical systems to the U.S. Department of Defense and allied nations, has an opening for an onsite Sr. Manager Quality Assurance to join our Wilkes-Barre, PA team. Summary:

Develops policies, procedures and methods to evaluate and improve the quality of products, materials, components and/or operations. Develops, assures and maintains the quality of products and processes, including standard procedures (e.g., ISO 9001:2000, ISO 14000 family of standards), quality audits/review, Taguchi methods, process reengineering, etc. Responsibilities are within the Quality Assurance Methods Function as a generalist or in a combination of Disciplines

Responsibilities

  • Manages programs and activities within the quality assurance functions of an organization
  • Supervises audit or inspection processes meant to monitor compliance with established quality standards
  • Administers policies and programs ensuring that organizational products and processes meet established quality standards
  • Participates in the development, implementation, and administration of an organizational quality management system and monitors progress against strategic quality-related goals
  • Manages the work of a team of analysts that collect data identifying potential quality failures, evaluate quality of raw materials or components, in-progress goods, processes or operations, and implement and measure the impact of corrective actions
  • Solicits internal and external feedback with the goal of continuously improving processes or products
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR & Senior Leadership

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree
  • Or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience
  • 7 - 8 years' experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Business or other Engineering-related degree
  • Certified Quality Engineer
  • ISO9001:2015 Lead auditor or AS9100D Lead Auditor
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt
  • Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Strong computer skills, administrative data control, scheduling and team interface
