Responsible for a variety of activities associated with the installation and maintenance of distribution and transmission pipelines to include directing crew members.

Principal Accountabilities:
- Performs a variety of activities as Lead:
- Coordinates work to be performed at the job site
- Ensures safety procedures are followed
- Ensures equipment and materials are operational and available to perform tasks
- Prepare and submit reports
- Inspects work of contractors
- Demonstrates proper procedures to crew members
- Coordinates work to be performed at the job site
- Performs a variety of activities as working member of the Utility crew:
- Displays the proper caution and traffic control signs
- Locates line leaks and performs repairs
- Performs tasks associated with annual valve survey and maintenance programs
- Performs leak surveys
- Fuse plastic pipe
- Purge pipelines
- Install leak clamps
- Change stop-cocks
- Displays the proper caution and traffic control signs
- Performs related functions to include:
- Call-out for emergencies
- Call-out for emergencies
- Other duties as assigned and required
Basic Qualifications:
- Must possess a high school diploma or a GED
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude
- Basic math skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Safety awareness
- Commercial driver's license (CDL)
- Previous related experience required.
Working Conditions:
- Field Mobility Classification - Work will be performed in various field locations, as needed, after the onboarding period. However, field employees are required to live within a reasonable daily commute to their assigned work location.
- Must work outdoors in adverse weather conditions; flexible work schedule; lifting up to 100 lbs; frequent bending, stooping, standing, digging, climbing; long periods of walking and standing; works on uneven terrain, many times with heavy vegetation; manual dexterity (hand/eye coordination); keen eyesight; good hearing; good sense of smell; comes in frequent contact with insects and animals.
