Be part of a team that applies its expertise and knowledge to find innovative and cost-effective means to apply equipment, processes, and technologies to the design and operation of material handling systems for our customers. The Application Engineer will develop solutions, designs, and equipment configurations that ensure appropriate, accurate handling and throughput rates in both new and modified material handling systems to meet or exceed all requirements. You will use your broadly recognized subject matter expertise to influence customers toward Honeywell solutions. Your engagement and coaching will be key in guiding customer/consultant RFP layouts to solutions that employ HON standards and leverage our core competencies.
You will take a systems approach in understanding core design features, project elements, and the overall system to meet internal and external customer expectations throughout the project design life cycle. This will require working closely with Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Engineering, Software, and Service teams to drive effectiveness through a total solution mindset and process orientated team. You will develop the needed knowledge and skills to design forward thinking and innovative solutions. Help Honeywell win customers by imparting your knowledge about products and solutions that compete on the market.
Responsibilities:
Engage in customer-facing activities to clarify design requirement and support Sales in presenting solutions
Design systems utilizing Honeywell products as well as integrated products and technologies such as robotics.
Utilize your engineering capabilities to support design projects for a variety of markets
Calculate throughput rates of the designed system
Be recognized as a SME with advanced knowledge of product application and specifications
Assist in identification of system design risks and mitigation strategies
Assist in writing of system descriptions of operation
Leverage your material handling automation experience to mentor and coach junior designers and estimators on the team
The salary range for this position is ($106000-160000). The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.

YOU MUST HAVE
7+ years of relevant experience
Proficient skills in AutoCAD
Proficient skills in Microsoft Office
Ability to travel up to 25% both domestically and internationally
WE VALUE
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical degree
Material handling or related experience strongly preferred
System design talent and creativity
Ability to work independently
Willingness to learn new technologies
An open, honest, and team-oriented personality
Good verbal communication skills
Some experience in a highly regulated and safety critical domain
Presentation skills
