Behavioral Health Case Manager Lead - Military Veterans

Location: This position will work virtually. The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations. 

The Behavioral Health Case Manager Team Lead will be responsible for coordinating operations and workflows that support case management program(s).

How you will make an impact:

  • Actively support a team of member facing case managers and other care management associates, working in different states and across multiple lines of business:  Medicaid, Medicare, Commercial.  
  • Serve as a resource for member-facing case managers, as they assist members with complex behavioral health, physical health, and/or substance use disorder needs.
  • Assist in the oversight of program referrals and accurate and timely case assignment.
  • Maintain training curriculum, develop training aids, and act as the primary support for new hire and ongoing trainings, across multiple case management systems:
  • Assist in developing and maintaining program documents, QSTs, and desktop procedures, and assist with process improvement activities.
  • Run program reports and interpret data. 
  • Conduct quality audits and assist with quality oversight and improvement activities, to ensure individual, team, and overall operational metrics are achieved.
  • Assist with interviews for open positions.
  • Assist Peer Support Specialist liaison, as needed.
  • Participate in cross-functional team projects and initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Requires MA/MS in social work counseling or a related behavioral health field or a degree in nursing, and minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in social work counseling with broad range of experience with complex psychiatric and substance abuse or substance abuse disorder treatment; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.
  • Current active, unrestricted license such as RN, LCSW, LMHC, LICSW, LPC (as allowed by applicable state laws) LMFT (as allowed by applicable state laws), or Clinical Psychologist to practice as a health professional within the scope of licensure in applicable states or territories of the United States required
  • Extensive experience in case management and telephonic and/or in person coaching with members with a broad range of complex psychiatric/substance abuse and/or medical disorders.
  • Managed care experience required.

Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences: 

  • Experience in health coaching and motivational interviewing techniques preferred.
  • Clinical training experience highly preferred
  • Proficiency with Excel, PPT, and TEAMS highly preferred
  • Quality and process improvement experience highly preferred
  • CCM designation, or ability to attain within 1 year preferred
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to plan, implement, and manage programs and initiatives to improve case management processes and outcomes. 
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing healthcare environments, regulations, and unexpected challenges.
  • Mentorship: Experience and ability to mentor and develop team members, fostering professional growth and improved performance.
  • Customer Service Orientation: A client-focused approach to understanding and meeting the needs of patients and their families effectively.

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $80,724-$132,618.
