Summary:

We are looking for a motivated, dynamic, personable, and professional Engineer to join our team!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities ( Other Duties may be assigned ):

  • As an engineer in the Corporate Engineering department you will be contributing into the engineering and design of oil and gas pump/compression systems and their facilities.
  • Partial responsibility of the engineering position is to support the Rotating Equipment-Project Execution Team in the design and construction of new and existing facilities.
  • The candidate would have some interest in dynamic mechanical systems such as internal combustion engines, motors, turbines, pumps and any other dynamic or rotating equipment.
  • The candidate must have the ability to effectively interface and integrate with other company departments including, Procurement, Engineering, and Operations to effectively fulfill the scope of the task assigned.


    Requirements:
    Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering required, Mechanical Engineering preferred
    • Travel could be up to 15%, as required; role to be based out of Houston, Texas.
    • Ability to proactively perform job responsibilities with minimal guidance or supervision and manage time effectively across tasks and project assignments.
    • Ability to take initiative, and work with both company and non-company personnel in a fast-paced environment with multiple concurrent assignments.
    • Strong verbal and written communications skills. Must be able to effectively support and communicate with team members in the Engineering and Construction Department.
    • Proficient PC-based skills including MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, Access)
    • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Preferred qualifications:
    • We are looking for highly motivated individuals with initiative and drive, excellent analytical, interpersonal & communication skills, and a track record of personal accountability and success throughout their academics.
    • We seek someone with integrity, who is passionate about their work; takes ownership of his/her results and can represent Energy Transfer with professionalism.
    • Must possess a strong willingness to learn and explore new ideas to resolve problems.
    • Not a requirement but we would prefer a candidate that would enjoy any of the following engineering courses: Statics/Dynamic Systems, Heat Transfer, Thermodynamics, Fluids, Compressible Fluid Flow, Petroleum Engineering, ThermalFluids, Control-Vibrations, Cad and Material Science.
    • Ability to organize, perform and prioritize various functions in a fast-paced environment
    • Excellent attention to details.
    • Must be able to adapt well to rapidly changing priorities and responsibilities
    • Must be a team player, and able to work effectively with a diverse workforce and with various levels within the organization
    Working Conditions:

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
    • Office to field distribution would be 80% Analytical, 20% Practical.
    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
    • May require frequent visits to industrial manufacturing/construction settings, which may include exposure to various materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
