Main purpose of the job:
As a Federal Government Enterprise Accounts Sales Person at Sonepar, you will be responsible for driving profitable growth within targeted accounts by implementing effective account management strategies. This role involves leveraging the full breadth of Sonepar's offerings to deliver comprehensive solutions and services to the Federal Government. You will work closely with the extended Sonepar organization to develop, coordinate, and execute strategic account plans that encompass all of Sonepar's enterprise capabilities.
· Grow the Federal Government business.
· Manage and continuously improve operational effectiveness for key national accounts.
· Prospect and acquire new Federal Government Sites.
· Utilize sophisticated sales acumen, including executive leadership selling, high-level negotiating, strategic planning, and proactive problem-solving.
· This is a remote position that can be based in any major U.S. city with a major airport.
Key Accountabilities
Delivering Results
- Hit the monthly, quarterly and yearly targets / budget.
- Provide information on current and future pursuits and pipeline across the assigned account.
- Forecast and track growth against the account plan and maintain a pipeline of opportunities.
- Support the overall Service strategy and contribute to the development of value propositions and marketing collateral.
- Track all opportunities using CRM and qualify them using the Sonepar Sales process
· Negotiate and attain profitable customer agreements in compliance with Sonepar legal guidelines.
Expand Sonepar's presence within the customer's facility portfolio by selling additional services.
Customer Understanding and Value Proposition Development
- Understand the customer's business and provide industry insights to develop the Sonepar value proposition.
- Build and maintain relationships with the customer's executive management team and other decision-makers.
- Develop credibility, loyalty, trust, and commitment at the executive level with customer relationships.
- Engage Sonepar's executive management with customers as appropriate.
Strategic Account Planning and Business Development
· Lead the development of the Strategic Account plan and strategy, coordinating with sales team members, operations, branch, and regional leadership.
· Develop and execute comprehensive strategies for managing national accounts in the field, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives. Foster strong relationships with key stakeholders, identify growth opportunities, and deliver tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of each account.
· Identify, prospect, and acquire qualified Federal Government Opportunities.
· Determine customer service/solution and material requirements, and coordinate unified proposals across Operating Companies.
- Ensure that case studies, account overviews, and best practices documents for assigned accounts are current and complete.
- Utilize internal and external resources to stay informed of market trends and product developments impacting Federal Government national accounts.
- Monitor and evaluate the activities of the competition and be a knowledge source of market conditions for your customer base.
Team Collaboration and Additional Responsibilities
- Foster team relationships within the assigned account teams and appropriate divisions and operating companies to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Serve as an executive-level point of escalation for customer satisfaction issues.
- Engage appropriate sales support resources, including functional experts, operational, engineering, technical, financial, and legal support when necessary.
- Ensure customers and Sonepar receive maximum value from dedicated and assigned resources, maintaining consistent branding and messaging.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to supporting various sales initiatives, participating in special projects, and adapting to evolving business needs to ensure the continued success and efficiency of the data center sales team.
Minimum work experience requirements:
· 5+ years demonstrated business development/account management success in USA Federal Government Sales segment
- Experience working for or in-depth understanding of Electrical/ Distribution preferred.
- Knowledge of selling into Federal Government.
- Strategic sales professional, capable of identifying opportunities, closing new business and providing best in class customer service. Promotes constant improvement.
- Excellent analytical, project management and problem-solving skills, ability to multitask effectively in a dynamic environment.
Minimum education requirements:
Bachelor’s degree, MBA Preferred
Other skills/experience desired:
- Highly motivated, detail-oriented, acts with a sense of urgency and able to meet deadlines.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for productive collaboration with vendors, customers, and internal teams.
- Proficiency in CRM, Microsoft Office Suite and ERP related software tools, presentation creation and utilizing data to drive business discussions/decisions.
Ability to travel 50% within the United States.
