Employment Type: Permanent Staff (EHRA NF) Vacancy ID: NF0008836 Salary Range: $71,820 85,548 Position Summary/Description: This position is a 100% remote work arrangement, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside in North Carolina, within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station. This is an at-will appointment with an expected duration of one year.. The position has responsibility for performing or assisting with a broad range of responsibilities involving EHRA personnel administration including: employee personnel action review and approval; position classification action review and approval; interpretation of EHRA policy questions; triaging and troubleshooting exceptional situations and either appropriately resolving or referring for higher level escalation, and assisting departmental and school-level human resources facilitators and officers in following prescribed business processes and procedures relating to EHRA personnel management. The Consultant will also play a lead role in delivering training to campus clients on EHRA personnel policies and procedures Education and Experience: Preferred candidates will have solid knowledge of University and state HR policies, procedures, processes and technologies as they relate to EHRA and SHRA personnel and payroll issues and the ability to interpret and communicate this information to the campus community. Five or more years of Human Resources experience is desired, preferably in a Human Resource Generalist capacity. Experience in higher education or the non-profit sector is preferred. Essential Skills: The duties of this position involve exercising judgment and performing administrative tasks that impact the pay and conditions of employment of EHRA employees. This includes confirming the accuracy and integrity of a variety of personnel actions and documentation. Errors in interpreting EHRA appointment guidelines or business procedures could result in missed pay or incorrect terms of appointment. This, in turn, risks compliance with the provisions of the University's EHRA employment policies, undesirable legal liability for the University, and employee relations issues.
