Requisition Number: S_250036 Department: Nebraska LTAP-4100 Description of Work: The mission of Nebraska Local Technical Assistance Program ( LTAP ) is to enhance the skills of local and state transportation professionals in providing a safe, efficient, environmentally sound transportation system in Nebraska. This position is part of a collaboration with the Federal Highway Administration and the Nebraska Department of Transportation. As the Environmental Project Manager, you will: Coordinate with local public agencies (LPAs) to review and recommend the approval of environmental documents and/or permits. Provide technical environmental support, such as knowledge of the Endangered Species Act and the Clean Water Act, and provide other assistance as needed to move federally funded projects through the environmental documentation process. Work with a variety of teams to develop, review, coordinate, communicate detailed scopes of services and cost estimates to efficiently deliver construction programs, reduce waste, and improve productivity, schedule reliability, cost estimates, and project schedules. Conduct effective project negotiations to maintain cost control. Manage consultant contracts to ensure accountability to cost, deliverables, and schedule. Identify Nebraska Department of Transportation ( NDOT ) program and LPA project delivery risks and develop solutions to avoid project delays. Perform quality assurance for project delivery process and participate in program audits. Minimum Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in environmental science/management, biological/physical/natural sciences, environmental engineering, or similar discipline. Experience and/ or knowledge of environmental project assessment, or compliance control experience in natural resource management, environmental management, or engineering/construction work or experience in conducting, planning, and/or monitoring environmental related projects, program, or studies. Effective communication skills are required to perform the essential functions of the job. Must have a valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirements. Preferred Qualifications: The following qualifications are preferred but not required: Master's degree in environmental science/management, biological/physical/natural sciences, environmental engineering, or similar discipline. Experience working with environmental documentation and/or compliance, specifically in the fields of NEPA and 404 Permitting. Project management training.
