CE Driver Improvement Instructor | Iowa Western - Military Veterans

The Driver Improvement Instructor is responsible for delivering educational programs aimed at improving driving skills, safety awareness, and compliance with traffic laws. This role involves developing and presenting course content, assessing student progress, and ensuring that the program meets regulatory standards. The instructor will play a key role in enhancing road safety and helping drivers develop responsible driving habits. Design and develop comprehensive driver improvement programs, including classroom instruction and practical training. Conduct engaging and informative classes on topics such as defensive driving, traffic laws, accident prevention, and safe driving practices. Utilize various teaching methods and materials, including multimedia presentations, interactive activities, and practical demonstrations Assess students' knowledge and driving skills through tests, evaluations, and practical exercises. Provide individualized feedback and support to students to help them improve their driving skills and knowledge. Address student questions and concerns related to course content and driving practices. Ensure that all instructional content and methods comply with state and local traffic regulations and standards. Stay updated on changes in traffic laws and driving regulations, incorporating these updates into the curriculum as needed. Will need to be able to travel to all center locations. Ability to pass a background check, have a valid US driver's license and good driving record Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate?s or Bachelor?s degree in Education, Traffic Safety, or a related field preferred. Certifications: Relevant certifications as a driving instructor or in driver improvement programs. Certification from a recognized traffic safety organization is a plus. Certified Prime for Life or NCTI Crossroad Cognitive Certified or become a certified instructor.
