Employment Type: Permanent Staff (EHRA NF) Vacancy ID: NF0008835 Position Summary/Description: This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement that may include a partially remote work location, consistent with System Office policy. UNC Chapel Hill employees are generally required to reside within a reasonable commuting distance of their assigned duty station. The Assistant Director of Admissions & Recruitment (AD) is responsible for the strategy and implementation of campus visit, community outreach, and yield programming efforts. In partnership with UNC Admissions, the AD will manage, and host regular campus visit programming, and support the development of new and innovative recruitment efforts to better promote Kenan-Flagler across the state. The AD will also partner with Kenan-Flagler Marketing and Communications to oversee admissions and recruitment-related collateral, including website, social media, presentation, and print materials. In addition to recruitment, the AD will serve as an admissions counselor for both current and future UNC Pre-Business prospective students and reader for the various review cycles within the Undergraduate Business Program ( UBP ). Education and Experience: Candidates should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, enabling them to connect effectively with a diverse array of stakeholders, including parents, students, faculty, staff, alumni, and admissions professionals. Enthusiasm for promoting UNC and Kenan-Flagler and serving as a resource for prospective students. One (1) or more years of experience in admissions, higher education, business development, recruiting, scholarship management and/or a minimum of three (3) years of related business experience in a relevant field. Essential Skills: A prominent level of proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) is required, as well as a high level of comfort with Customer Relationship Management tools and social media. Ability to attend and/or manage events in the evening hours and some weekends during peak recruiting periods (August-November and January-April), and a willingness to travel a minimum of 5% to represent UNC Kenan-Flagler at national and international conferences and/or recruitment activities. Candidates should demonstrate a professional demeanor, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Flexibility and a collaborative spirit are essential, along with the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team. A commitment to operational effectiveness, creativity, and innovation is crucial, as is a growth mindset for critical thinking and data analysis.
