Senior Programmer Analyst - Military Veterans

Alabama State University, Center for Leadership and Public Policy invites applications to fill the Senior Programmer Analyst position. This position will support the Computer Services - Programming Support Section and other systems as required in our support contract with ALDOT.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides the highest level of technical competence in support and maintenance services for new and existing ALDOT software. Maintains and supports the ALDOT Web based, client/server and mobile applications.
- Develops complex software solutions for the various ALDOT Bureau and Office systems, including interfaces and new functionality.
- Performs as an IT Team and/or Project Leader, planning, directing, and making work assignments to subordinate IT staff in support of all ALDOT software.
- Participates in technical planning and development; researches and recommends software solutions considering efficiency implications.
- Develops, documents, coordinates, and maintains technical standards and systems development documentation to ensure consistency within the ALDOT Computer Services Bureau.
- Collaborates with users to analyze problems and opportunities for efficiencies; understand their goals and initiatives and transforms them into solutions. Trains users in the operation of new and existing systems.
Applicants may qualify with any one of the following combinations of education and experience:
- A Bachelor?s Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Management Information Systems, Software Engineering, plus 5 years of the required programming experience to include 3 years of experience in systems analysis/design.
- No college course work plus 9 years of the required programming experience to include 5 years of experience in systems analysis/design.
TRAINING / EXPERIENCE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
The resource should include technical skills like:
- Languages / framework: C#, .NET, .Net Core, Blazor, Web Api, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Angular, jQuery, T-SQL, SQL
- Operating Systems: Windows, Android, iOS
- Databases: SQL Server, SQLite, DB2
- Tools: Visual Studio, DevOps, Visio, Office Suite, SQL Server Management Studio.
- Others: Design Patterns, Agile Methods, Scrum, Test-Driven Development, Service-Oriented Architecture
OTHER SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:
- Knowledge of modern web development technologies
- Knowledge of modern web application security technologies
- Knowledge of cloud technologies
- Knowledge of modern database systems and technologies
- Creative problem-solving skills
