Fire Safety Specialist - Military Veterans

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The position will administer and monitor the Emergency Preparedness/Building Evacuation Plans, Fire Prevention, Aerial Lifts, Forklift, Automated External Defibrillators (AED), Hot Work, and Event Safety programs. The position will conduct training sessions; inspect facilities; enforce safety regulations; emergency planning; conduct investigations; assessments; and work with faculty, staff, students and other stakeholders to ensure the safety of the campus community.

Minimum Experience / Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a physical science, biological science, environmental science/engineering, occupational safety, industrial technology or related discipline; or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in safety and health, engineering, risk management, other related technical field or business.
  • Possess or is actively working towards Professional Certification(s) (GSP, ASP, OHST, CHST, CSP, ARM, CIH, CHMM, etc.)
  • 1-3 years of safety experience.
