To excel in this role, you should possess a Bachelor’s (or advanced) degree in accounting and at least 3 years of tax experience in a public accounting firm. Proficiency in accounting skills, strong verbal and written communication, and a healthy work ethic to learn and grow are essential. As a problem solver with an organized approach and a willingness to tackle new challenges, you will oversee staff by delegating tasks, providing hands-on training, and fostering a collaborative environment. Critical thinking and acute attention to detail are also necessary, along with familiarity with tax compliance software like ProSystem-fx Tax and a desire to pursue or hold a CPA certification.
