Logistics Specialist- Ocean Freight - Military Veterans

Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Logistics Specialist with a strong focus on ocean freight to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of international trade regulations, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and a proven ability to manage complex ocean freight shipments.

Responsibilities:

Manage all aspects of ocean freight shipments, including booking, documentation, tracking, and customs clearance.
Research and negotiate rates with ocean carriers.
Prepare and submit all necessary documentation, including bills of lading, invoices, and customs entries.
Track shipments from origin to destination and proactively address any delays or issues.
Communicate effectively with customers, carriers, and other stakeholders.
Resolve customer inquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
Stay abreast of changes in international trade regulations and industry best practices.
Maintain accurate records of all shipments.
Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, International Business, or a related field preferred.
3 years of experience in ocean freight logistics.
Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, including customs regulations, Incoterms, and import/export procedures.
Experience with ocean carrier contracts and rate negotiations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Experience with a Transportation Management System (TMS) a plus.
